If that's all you need from page numbers then you've learnt all you need to.You might want to check out another Publisher tutorial. There's a great one on how to import a Word document into Publisher that you could take a look at.
Just a quick point. If you want to see how to add page numbers at a specific page in a Publisher publication then check out our tutorial on that.
However, your page numbers might need adjusting. Say, for example, you want to place the page number in a location that isn't available from the standard drop down list.
Adjusting the Postition of the Page Number in Publisher
If you want to change the postition of the page number in Publisher then you will need to view the master slide. You don't have to know too much about them but it's worth knowing that they exist.
First, double-click on the page number you've just added.
Now, you're looking at the footer in Publisher. In fact, you are on a master page. When you look at the number, you will see that it's changed into a hashtag (#). This is nothing to be alarmed at. The hastag is just a representation of numbers. Next thing to do is to adjust the position of the page number.
The next step is to click on the Home Tab - then align the text in the text box left.
Using the top horizontal ruler, click the position at which you want to place the page number.
(If you can't see the ruler at the top, click View - Rulers.)
Now, press the tab key on the keyboard so that the cursor stops at the first tab stop.
You can now drag the tab stop on the top ruler to the position you require.
When you've finished dragging the page number to exactly the position you need, double-click on in the middle of the page in Microsoft Publisher to exit Header/Footer mode.
